Hernandez

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 280 lbs.
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Favorite move/hold: The Border Toss

Some fans know him as "The Tex-Mex T-Rex," others as "The Super-Mex," or just simply as "Hotstuff." Regardless, words cannot express how much Hernandez has meant to River City Wrestling and his level of commitment to the fans and to the wrestling business. The current TNA star and multiple TNA Tag Team Champion was originally seen in the RCW ring in December 2003 as part of the first "Texas Explosion" event as he teamed with Pete Lothario to take on All Japan's Great Muta & Arashi.

When RCW went full-time in August 2005, Hernandez returned and won the RCW Championship on Dec. 17, 2005 by defeating The Great Kazushi Miyamoto in a Tables Match. Hernandez would hold the title for nearly a year. That year included battling Miyamoto and Mr. Yebisu's clan (which included The Texas Treats, Fast Eddie & Spiro). On May 7, 2006, Hernandez teamed with LAX members Homicide & Konnan in a six-man match against Team IPS (Chris Marval, Spiro, & Fast Eddie). Shortly after this event, Hernandez went from being the most loved RCW star to the most hated as Hernandez turned his back on Ikaika and The Nerdy Boys. On July 1, 2006, Hernandez wrestled the popular "One Man" Mike Dell. With help from Ikaika, Dell scored the pinfall and appeared to become the new RCW Champion. Brandon Oliver, however, reversed the decision and eventually became the manager of Hernandez and Team MEX which also included Sicodelico Jr. and The Texas Treats. Other battles that year included a match with Masada.

In Nov. 2006, Hernandez & Team MEX lost to Mr. Yebisu's team in a cage match at "Rage in the Cage," which allowed Mr. Yebisu control of four consecutive RCW events. On Dec. 2, 2006, Hernandez was scheduled to face Ikaika, but Oliver and Hernandez refused to partake in the event so Sicodelico Jr. served as Hernandez' proxy, losing the title to Ikaika.

In 2007, Team MEX went from despised to loved once again as a new group called "The Coalition of Caucasian Knights" came to RCW. This group, which included Mike Foxx, Messiah, Rory Fox, Scott McKenzie & B.J. Turner, battled the enraged Team MEX until it culminated in an Electrified Cage Match between the groups at the May 19, 2007 "Nowhere to Run II" event. Team MEX won the event, and shortly thereafter, RCW went on a short hiatus.

In August 2008, RCW returned as did Hernandez. Hernandez' first test was against a group known as The HNIC. In September 2008, as Hernandez, Sicodelico Jr. and SKAM-13 had the advantage over The HNIC, Keith Lee made his debut, tossing around Hernandez and even making "The Super-Mex" bleed after being hit with a chain. No one had ever seen Hernandez being tossed around the ring before.

Things got even worse for Hernandez and RCW as KENS-5 sportscaster Joe Reinagel was brought in to be RCW's Commissioner. Reinagel displayed his true colors and brought in his own "TV star" as his main wrestler. This turned out to be Lance Hoyt (Rock), and together they also wanted to take over RCW!

On Feb. 7, 2009, Hernandez faced Keith Lee with Joe Reinagel as special guest referee. Reinagel said that no one else may serve as the official for the match. Throughout the bout, Reinagel favored Lee, and even refused to count a pinfall for Hernandez. As Hernandez was about to beat down Reinagel, Reinagel low-blowed Hernandez. As it seemed the odds were stacked against Hernandez, Oliver came out and laid out Reinagel. Hernandez regained the advantage and Border Tossed Lee. Oliver grabbed Reinagel's arms and made Reinagel's hand slap the mat three times and Hernandez ended his rivarly with Lee.

Hernandez set his sights on Lance Hoyt next. After a six-man bout between Hernandez, Oliver & Don Juan vs. Hoyt, Joey Spector, and Andy Dalton on March 7, 2009, Hernandez faced Hoyt in a "Loser Leaves RCW" Match on March 21. Hernandez defeated Hoyt, thus ending Hoyt's career in RCW. The following day, Hernandez & Ryan Genesis captured the RCW Tag Team Championship from The HNIC. Shortly thereafter, tragedy struck as Hernandez suffered a massive neck injury, and subsequent surgery that would keep the big man out for an estimated 6-9 months. On May 23, 2009, Ben Galvan subbed for Hernandez and teamed with Genesis and lost the Tag Team Titles to Big Dogg & Keith Lee.

Without Hernandez, Reinagel and his crew knew Oliver was vulnerable. Reinagel placed a $5,000 bounty on Oliver. Despite attempts from other individuals, on June 6, 2009, Ray The Voice collected on the bounty (although Reinagel never paid him), turning against Oliver and handcuffing him to the ropes. As Reinagel's crew beat on Oliver with a kendo stick, Ray stapled Oliver's chest. Just as it seemed Oliver could take no more, Hernandez made his surprise return! Hernandez ripped off his neckbrace, and broke the kendo stick over the heads of Spector, Dalton and Reinagel. Hernandez had returned, proving how much "The Super-Mex" cared about RCW and its fans, returning so soon from a devastating injury.

For the next few months, Hernandez battled Reinagel Championship Wrestling. On Oct. 24, 2009, the big man had enough of Reinagel's cronies running things and took back control. In the days leading up to Nov. 28, 2009, Oliver officially regained control of River City Wrestling. Hernandez served as a ring announcer on Nov. 28, and after the mixed six-person tag bout between Mr. Texas, Ann Dromeda, & Hamada vs. Spector, Dalton & Alissa Flash, Hernandez announced that due to his TNA commitments he would be lucky to be around for a handful of shows in 2010. Hernandez said good-bye to the fans and urged them to continue to support River City Wrestling.
